All Because Two People Swiped Right

Their story began the modern way—with a swipe right on Tinder. Dylan kicked things off with a pick-up line: Jordy Nelson is now the second-best thing to come to Wisconsin from K-State.﻿ Weeks later, during their first date, Dylan asked Katherine what the best pick-up line she’d heard on Tinder so far. Without missing a beat, she repeated that exact line—completely unaware it had come from him! Safe to say, it worked. They talked for two weeks before that first date, which started at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Katherine was so nervous she did most of the talking (and Dylan patiently listened). From there, they grabbed pizza, had drinks at what’s now one of their favorite spots—Bryant’s—and eventually closed down the bars. Katherine even met Vader, Dylan's lovable black lab. Things moved quickly from there. They became inseparable and moved in together just four months later. That summer, they added their Boston Terrier, Willie, to the mix. The following year, they brought home their cat, Winston, and despite Katherine’s best efforts, Dylan has firmly vetoed adding a fourth pet (for now). Fast forward to Labor Day weekend 2025: Dylan’s brother, Brandon, and his girlfriend, Satori (who’s basically their sister-in-law), were in town. They went to the art museum—the place where their first date began. After walking through the galleries, they went outside toward Lake Michigan. Dylan slyly asked Brandon and Satori if they wanted a picture, and then Satori suggested Dylan and Katherine take one too. Right after that photo, Dylan got down on one knee and proposed. Over the past few years, they've built a life full of laughter, love, and just the right amount of chaos. They're so grateful for your love and support—and they can’t wait to celebrate with you! Nan is Dylan’s beloved aunt, known for bringing fun and joy wherever she goes. Sweet, caring, and full of heart, she welcomed Katherine into the family with open arms. At the Fourth of July in 2025, she half-jokingly told Dylan she was a priest—clearly hinting he needed to marry Katherine soon! We’re so lucky she’s officiating, bringing her warmth, humor, and love to our ceremony.

Katherine met Holly at work, and it didn’t take long for her and Dylan to become close to Holly and her wife, Maddy. Their friendship has been full of laughter, support, and countless shared moments that make every hangout feel effortless. We’re so grateful they’re standing with us as witnesses, sharing in this special day and celebrating alongside us.

Cydney and Katherine met in 2018 outside a stats class at Kansas State, where Cydney claims Katherine “adopted” her on the spot. From late-night study sessions to unforgettable Aggieville nights, their friendship has been full of laughter and unwavering support ever since.

Brandon is Dylan’s little brother and a loyal Red Wings fan, much to Dylan’s Leafs-loving frustration. He’s been teasing Dylan since the beginning, but their bond wouldn’t be the same without it. Brandon and his girlfriend, Satori, were there to celebrate our engagement.

They met through the bromance of Devan and Dylan, and Julie and Katherine quickly bonded over their love of animals—and their cats, the true rulers of their friendship. Since then, their connection has grown through laughter, cat stories, and countless shared memories.

Devan and Dylan met in the Navy and have been best friends ever since, building a bromance full of inside jokes and unforgettable memories. While Devan can’t be here due to deployment, there’s no doubt he’d be front and center—probably trying to steal a slow dance with Dylan.

They’re lucky that Brandon, Dylan’s brother, brought them together, because some friendships are just meant to be. Katherine calls her “her sister,” and their bond shows in the endless TikToks they share and hours of nonstop chatting. If laughter and long conversations were a sport, they’d be Olympic champions.

Spencer met Dylan in the Navy, so they’ve seen each other at their best, worst, and most sleep-deprived. As one of Dylan’s closest friends, Spencer has a sharp, dry sense of humor that could probably use a warning label. If he roasts you at the wedding, consider it a compliment—probably.

Katherine, Molly (and Steph) met through the running community on Twitter, back when bonding over miles and memes with strangers was totally normal. Thirteen years and countless running shoes later, they’re still just as close—though Katherine has retired from 6 a.m. long runs. When Molly moved to Chicago in April 2025, Katherine cried, thrilled that one of her favorite people was finally close by.

Nathaniel is Katherine’s younger brother by three years and a master of sibling-level annoyance. Despite a childhood spent pushing buttons (and hiding her stuff), he loves his sister fiercely — and even agreed to dress up and behave for her big day. A proud Royals fan, he’s still figuring out how to sneak a bit of blue into his groomsman outfit.

Katherine met Steph (and Molly) through the running community on Twitter, bonding over sore legs and race anxiety in 280 characters or less. Thirteen years later, that online connection has become real-life memories, including the honor of being asked to witness Steph and Alyse’s wedding—proof that online friends can become chosen family.

It all started in the Navy, where Jon and Dylan crossed paths, shared laughs, and bonded over “Go Pack Go.” Jon is the reason Dylan ended up in Milwaukee, and their friendship grew over whiskey flights and plenty of emotional support. Then Katherine came along and, like a rom-com twist, completely took over—leaving Jon happily playing the third wheel with a front-row seat at the wedding.

Katherine’s something blue! Hannah and Katherine met at K-State and bonded over their shared love for the Wildcats. She is one of the people who has been there for her through it all. Katherine wouldn’t have gotten through everything she has without her!

Met in the Navy, Dylan and Justin became fast friends. A loyal Red Wings fan, Justin makes the trip every year to Detroit to watch them take on the Leafs (and to give Dylan grief about his team).

Please RSVP by August 3rd. We kindly ask that all responses be submitted by this date, as we will not be able to accommodate late RSVPs. If we do not hear from you, we will assume you are unable to attend and will miss celebrating with you.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

Cocktail attire. We kindly ask that guests avoid jeans.Please see the Dress Code page for more details.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE CEREMONY?

We kindly ask that guests keep phones and cameras put away during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present in the moment (and because we have an amazing photographer!). Feel free to take photos during the reception.

DO YOU HAVE A HOTEL BLOCK?

Yes! We have two hotel blocks available—one closer to the venue and one downtown.Please see the Accommodations &amp; Travel page for booking details.

IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?

Yes, parking will be available at the venue for guests. To encourage responsible celebrations, our venue allows guests to leave their cars overnight and return to pick them up on Sunday between 9:00–11:00 AM.

ARE PLUS-ONES ALLOWED?

Due to limited space at our venue, we are only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation.

ARE CHILDREN INVITED?

Children are welcome if they are listed on the invitation.However, we encourage you to use this as a fun date night!

WHAT IS THE BEST AIRPORT TO USE?

We recommend flying into Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE).Chicago O'Hare (ORD) is also a good option if you're comfortable renting a car for the weekend.

WILL THERE BE ACCOMMODATIONS FOR THOSE WITH DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

Yes! Please specify any dietary restrictions when you RSVP. There will be plenty of gluten-free options available.

WILL THERE BE AN OPEN BAR?

Of course! Beer, wine, and cocktails will be available. Please drink responsibly.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO WHILE WE’RE IN TOWN?

Milwaukee has so much to offer! We recommend exploring the lakefront, checking out local breweries, and enjoying some great restaurants while you're here. Be sure to check out the Things to Do and Eat &amp; Drink pages on our website for some of our favorite spots around the city.

We kindly ask no jeans.For Women: Elegant cocktail dresses, dressy skirts, or chic jumpsuits are perfect. Feel free to accessorize with statement jewelry and stylish heels or dressy flats.Please avoid wearing green, as that is reserved for our wedding party.For Men: A sharp suit or blazer paired with dress trousers and a button-down shirt is ideal. Schlitz Audubon Nature Center1111 East Brown Deer RoadMilwaukee, Wisconsin 53217 On Lake Michigan, East of Lake Drive, approximately 1 mile east of I-43. 15 minutes north of downtown Milwaukee. You can park at the venue overnight; however, please pick up your car between 9am - 11am the next day.

From I-43 Exit Brown Deer Road and continue east on Brown Deer for one mile. As you approach a curve to the right where Brown Deer meets Lake Drive, move into the left turn lane. Turn left onto Lake Drive (north) and then immediately turn right to stay on Brown Deer Road (east). Drive for 1/8 mile and look for the Schlitz Audubon sign to the right. Turn right into the grounds and follow the road to the parking lot and the main building. Going North on Lake Drive As you approach a curve to the right where Brown Deer meets Lake Drive, turn right onto Lake Drive (north) and then immediately turn right to stay on Brown Deer Road (east). Drive for 1/8 mile and look for the Schlitz Audubon sign to the right. Turn right into the grounds and follow the road to the parking lot, pavilion, and the main building.

Parking Parking is available at the venue. Please let the attendant at the welcome booth know that you're there for the wedding - you will not have to pay the admission.
